Helpline for Women

The Scheme for Universalisation of Women Helpline is being implemented  since 1st April, 2015 to provide 24 hour emergency and non-emergency response to women affected by violence including sexual offences and harassment both in public and private sphere, including in the family, community, workplace, etc.

As Women Helplines are becoming operational recently, data regarding number of complaints registered/reported have been received only from States of Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Mizoram and Nagaland. The complaints registered/reported were referred to the appropriate authority such as police, Counsellor, Hospital, Protection Officer etc. as per their requirement or provided information about the government schemes/programs as requested. The details are as under :
